About me

I have been practicing Yoga for about 20 years and teaching since 2014. I have practiced many different traditions of Yoga, among them Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga and Satyananda. This, combined with my background as a qualified general nurse and my experience in various sports (like gymnastics), makes my classes eclectic and versatile.

I love teaching the best-known Hatha Yoga practices – postures and sequences, breathing and relaxation – but I also like to sprinkle my classes with less conventional practices.

With over 30 years' experience working in nursing, I now teach chair and wheelchair Yoga. I give a weekly class to the residents of Alne hall Leonard Cheshire care home, and have also taught in other care homes in the York area.

In 2016 I completed the British Wheel of Yoga Level 4 teaching diploma with Jayadhara (www.YogandShiatsu.org.uk).
